Unix management system integration with a Windows 2003 network Back to the top
 

In this mandate, we were to make so that the management system can speak with the Microsoft Windows network in place. We established a bridge between the two platforms.

  • Design of the new platform
  • Modifications of the Windows platform network parameters to accept Unix platform (DHCP, DNS, REVERSE DNS, SAMBA)
  • Synchronization of the inter-platforms usernames and passwords
  • Printers reconfiguration to accept the print jobs coming from the two platforms
 
   
     
 
Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 network migration Back to the top
 

In this mandate, we had to migrate a Windows 2000 network to Windows 2003. The network was composed of four servers including two domain controllers.

  • Design of the migration
  • Main server migration towards a new server under Microsoft SBS 2003 (including the user accounts and the data). The product Microsoft SBS 2003 contains all new technologies of Microsoft products such as Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, ISA 2004, etc.
  • Reinstallation of the three other servers under Windows 2003 and promotion of the one of them as a secondary domain controller
  • Safety rules update
  • Antivirus software update
  • Solution of automated backup update
  • Printers reconfiguration under the new updated platform
  • Microsoft VPN reconfiguration to allow remote access
  • Outlook Web Access installation to give access to the emails via the Internet

In this mandate, we were to address an important problem. The customer was receiving approximately more than one million junk emails (spam) per week. We set up a solution working under Linux which is integrated within the Microsoft Windows 2003 network already in place.

  • Design of the solution
  • Evaluation of the number of junk mails and use of the bandwidth
  • Acquisition of a new server and SpamTitan solution installation and configuration under FreeBSD (Linux)
  • Search for a web hosting solution
  • Server installation at the Internet provider
  • Management and maintenance of the AntiSpam solution
 
   
     
 
Remote working solution deployment Back to the top
 

In this mandate, it was necessary for us to make it possible to the company representatives to be able to work remotely by having access to their emails, documents and corporative applications and that, everywhere in the world. We deployed a solution securely allowing four different access methods to information.

  • Design of the solution
  • Outlook Web Access publication under Exchange 2003 in HTTPS (protected Certificate)
  • Acquisition of a new server and installation of Microsoft Windows 2003 Terminal Server, office automation and corporative applications
  • Publication of the terminal server on Internet
  • Installation of the Microsoft VPN (RRAS) solution
  • Installation of a Blackberry server for emails synchronization, contacts and calendars with Blackberry telephones on the road

In this mandate, the customer wanted to guarantee the continuation of his operations within a very short time in the event of breakdowns or disasters. We had to conceive a backup solution enabling us to quickly put the customer back on foot. We had to use virtualisation to achieve our goals.

  • Design of the solution
  • Symantec BackupExec System Recovery deployment on the servers and configuration of “snapshots” at every two hours
  • VMWare Workstation deployment on the servers
  • Conversion of a “snapshot” into VMWare virtual machine
  • Virtual machine publication to validate the backups

In this mandate, we were to deploy a Microsoft Windows 2003 network. The customer did not have any network installation.

  • Needs evaluation
  • Development of the network infrastructure
  • Acquisition of two new servers and Microsoft SBS 2003 deployment on one of them. Microsoft SBS 2003 product contains all new technologies of the Microsoft products such as Windows 2003, Exchange 2003, ISA 2004, etc
  • Windows 2003 deployment on the second server with the Autodesk VAULT solution
  • User creation and security installation
  • Current stations cleaning and connection with the new network
  • Common and private files structure installation for the needs of information exchange
  • Installation and configuration of Microsoft Anti-junk email software for Exchange 2003
  • Installation and configuration of Symantec Corporate Edition antivirus software
  • Installation of the Microsoft VPN solution to give remote access
  • Remote Workspace installation to allow to the users remote access to their working station
  • Outlook Web Access publication under Exchange 2003 in HTTPS (protected Certificate)

Personnalization of the user profiles automation Back to the top
 

In this mandate, we were to allow former and new users automatic personalization of their profiles. To achieve this, we used Scriptlogic’s Desktop Authority. With this product, we were able to entirely personalize the profile of the users according to the requests of the customer and needs of the users.

  • Design of the solution
  • Scriptlogic Deployment on the servers and the stations
  • Personalization of the users’ work environment (profile) using Desktop Authority (Email configuration, Network printers installation, stations security, etc).
